1 · Rank and constrain

Most wanted at the top. 🔒 marks a non-negotiable: it is placed before anything else and the rest of the schedule bends around it. The planner never drops a higher-ranked film to fit lower ones, but it will move a higher one to a different screening if that lets more of the list in.

How the estimate works

Prices are the brochure's published bands plus the £1 booking fee: Royal Festival Hall galas £25 (band £21–30), closing gala £40, evening and weekend £18, weekday daytime £15 (band £13–18). IMAX is not priced separately in the brochure, so it's counted at £18. Real totals may run 15% either way; a handful of £10 tickets exist per screening for the quick.
Screenings before 17:00 on Wed–Fri are "work" and only offered if that day has "leave" ticked.
Ten minutes' walking buffer is kept between consecutive films.
